I am very impressed with Starbucks' Latte Primo. I love drinking strong black coffee, and also enjoy coffee drinks. My favorite T-Discs for coffee are Starbucks Caffe Verona and Africa Kitamu. Prior to sampling the Starbucks Latte and Cappuccino, my choice was Gevalia Latte and Cappuccino T-Discs because I found their espresso better (stronger) than Maxwell House's. Those two brands share the same creamers and although they are certainly acceptable, they have a stronger cooked milk flavor compared to Starbuck's.

Starbucks espresso is a great improvement over the Gevalia, and its presence in the Latte is key to my five star rating for the drink. I also prefer the new creamer developed by Starbucks. The creamer does contain a small amount of sugar, and although the reason for its inclusion is unclear, I didn't find the sweetness noticeable. The latte creamer produces a luxurious quantity of creamy decadent foam.

I have attached a picture of the latte while in... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Starbucks flavor, January 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Starbucks Latte Primo, T-Discs for Tassimo Coffeemakers, 8 Count Packages (Pack of 2) (Grocery)
I tried Starbucks Latte Primo this morning and was thrilled with the flavor! To me, it tastes exactly like a latte I would get at Starbucks. The ratio of crema to espresso was excellent, and the head on the crema was perfect. This is impressive and uplifting, since I have found the other Starbucks T-Disc products to be lacking.
While the flavor was spot-on, the serving size was a little measly. I suggest, if you can afford it, that you make a double-dose. It's still less expensive than a trip to Starbucks, and you don't have to leave your house to get your latte fix!

3.0 out of 5 stars Starbucks latte primo -why sweetened?, January 18, 2010
By
This review is from: Starbucks Latte Primo, T-Discs for Tassimo Coffeemakers, 8 Count Packages (Pack of 2) (Grocery)
This is a good tasting latte, almost as good as going to a Starbucks itself except for one thing. I don't understand why the milk disc has sugar in it. When you get a latte at Starbucks there is no sweetener added. It's a turn off for those of us trying to do a home brew latte with the Starbucks flavor. Rattleware 12-Ounce Latte Art Milk Frothing Pitcher

This 12 ounce straight sided steaming pitcher is made from 18/10 high quality stainless steel. Ideally milk for espresso should be steamed as needed on a per drink basis. 4.0 out of 5 stars Latte Art?, November 5, 2008

This is one of the more competitively priced 12oz pitcher on Amazon. Its solid construction will ensure years of heavy usage. The previous reviewer commented on its handle but my medium sized hands fit the handle adequately without the need to come into contact with the pitcher. Otherwise, don't fill it to the rim with hot milk.

I pour latte art on my drinks and this pitcher has a nice sharp spout which allows the flow of milk to be easily controlled at the spout.

You can easily steam enough milk in this pitcher for 2 typical 5oz cappuccinos without spilling the milk in the steaming process. Recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad little pitcher, May 16, 2008

This was exactly what I was looking for-a small, sturdy pitcher that I can use to make a latte for one. It's hard to have much to say about a basic pitcher, but this one is good. It's sturdy. The only drawback is the handle. Unless you use only one finger and thumb to hold it, your knuckles are going to get burned. For that reason, I just use a pot holder and grab the whole cup instead of the handle.

Excellent frothing pitcher, really does make a difference in frothing. Good size to steam enough milk for one latte. Is small enough to fit underneath the steaming nozzle on my home espresso maker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nespresso's best machine ever reinvents in-home Cappuccino, October 4, 2011
By
Michael Fortson (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Nespresso has long been known for their espresso makers, especially in Europe (where you see them everywhere). They've had separate gadgets for making milk-based drinks like cappuccino and lattes, too, and for the last couple of years we've owned one of those coffee-making duos, the Nespresso Citiz and Aeroccino Plus. They were big hits at home, especially when guests visited. So after seeing their new combo unit, the Latissima+, we had to give that a try. This review will primarily look at the device as an upgrade over those two separate components, since the integrated milk steamer is such a big part of this machine, but it should also help people just starting out with Nespresso or anyone upgrading from an espresso-only model.

Pros:
Just One Button for Cappuccino/Latte
This makes a huge difference, which is a bit surprising. After all, we had a perfectly good milk frother in the Aeroccino Plus. The problem was that even though it was fast and cleanup was... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Best automatic espresso machine under $1,200..., October 13, 2011
Being lazy and on a budget we've been using Keurig for a few years for morning coffee, and a simple Makineta on the weekends for a real espresso taste. The Keurig is not really coffee, but it is fast and easy. The Makineta produces exceptional espresso, but it is hard to setup and clean, only creates two shots at one cycle and you have to froth the milk separately. Bottom line - not a practical solution on weekday mornings when you need to get the kids to school, feed and walk the dog before heading out to work. When we came back from a trip to Europe this summer we couldn't even look at the Keurig machine anymore, and we shifted our search for a fully automatic espresso machine to high gear. I've been following the Nespresso machine for a while now, but never got one because I wanted a machine that does it all. The only other machine I was considering was the Jura, but I could never get myself to pay over $1,200 for an espresso machine. The day I saw a video online featuring the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Upgrade from the first batch of Nespresso machines, September 14, 2011
By
Christian Arathos (San Francisco, USA) - See all my reviews
I've been using the old Nespresso C101 with the Aeroccino Milk Frother. It is a great machine, and there is no question that the Nespresso capsules are the closest thing to great coffee you can get from an pod-type machine. However, my main issues were that it took so long to clean the milk frother. If you didn't clean it thoroughly, the milk would bake on the bottom and lead to pretty bad cappuccinos the next time around.

When I first saw the Latissima+, I was pretty excited since the milk container is built in and had an auto clean button. After using it for a couple of days, I can definitely say this is an upgrade. Its quick to start up, can auto shut down, and most of all its a breeze to clean up. While not zero work - you do have to press a "clean" button for about 10 seconds every time you finish your morning batches of coffee if you use the milk - this is a lot easier than the old Aeroccino. And due to this, I find myself making coffee a lot more often... Read more
